IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATE
STAY HOME WHEN SICK
While this sounds counter-intuitive, it is not necessary to seek medical care unless you are severely ill. Most individuals with COVID-19 will experience only mild illness and will recover without treatment. Coming to the Clinic when ill with COVID 19 symptoms unnecessarily exposes clinical staff and other patients to the virus, which spreads the illness and impacts our ability to deliver healthcare.
CALL THE CLINIC FIRST
In accordance with CDC recommendations regarding social distancing, effective immediately, you must call the Clinic before scheduling an appointment. Your symptoms will be screened over the phone and a determination made regarding appropriate care. Where appropriate, telehealth systems such as telephone/Skype may be utilized to conduct evaluations. In-person face-to-face appointments at the Clinic will be scheduled only when necessary and appropriate personal protection precautions will be utilized (masks, gloves, etc.)
If you develop acute respiratory symptoms (fever, sore throat, cough, shortness of breath)—please call the Clinic. This will help identify those who need testing at the Clinic or who are high risk requiring referral for additional care. CALL 620-473-2222 (ext. 208) during clinic hours. During non-clinic hours, please leave a voicemail for Judy Works, APRN at 620-363-0625—your call will be returned promptly. Please do not hesitate to call during non-clinic hours—your health is important to us!
TESTING – We Can’t Test Everyone--YET
At this time, KDHE is determining who may be tested. The patient must be symptomatic (fever, cough), test negative for influenza, and have had a possible exposure to COVID-19.
